On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the Seventh International Seminar: Oil and Gas Exploration and Production - VII INGEPET 2011, I would like to extend to you a most cordial invitation to participate in this new version of INGEPET scheduled to be held from November 7th to November 11nd, 2011 in Lima, Peru.

INGEPET is jointly organized every three years by Perupetro with the support of main hydrocarbon companies and other institutions whose cooperation is essential to guarantee that this event will be a success for all the involved.

INGEPET is by now a tradition in the hydrocarbon industries of both Peru and Latin America as a whole. It provides a space to exchange knowledge, enrich experiences, and showcase originality and technological innovation; which contribute to improve oil and gas exploration and production activities and to an integrated Latin American industry focused on the environment

and social responsibility It is a known fact that the organization of a new version of INGEPET always exceeds, in all senses, its prior version, and this time shall be no exception. We are confident to meet everyone's expectations and to be able to welcome year 2012 having

gained more experience, greater support from the hydrocarbons sector, and more confidence in our country. For this reason, the Organizing Committee has proposed two challenges very closely related to our slogan: “Learning and Planning for the Future: Technological and Innovative Advances”, which we believe are worth stressing:

• To the professionals, to take heart to break the paradigms and intensify the use of technologies that should enable us not only to be up to the needs, but to go one step further and anticipate the future.
• To corporations and states, to work on the search for mechanisms that should encourage the development of resources and the efficient recovery of reserves within a perspective of socio-environmental sustainability.

This new version of INGEPET shall address a serie of activities aimed at maximizing hydrocarbon recovery and productivity. More than 200 technical papers shall be presented and specialized courses on the various topics shall be provided. Also the following Plenary Sessions shall be held:

• “Petroleum Industry Trends: New Frontiers and Non-Conventional Resources”.
• “The Impact of the Gas Industry on the Economy of Latin America - Multinational Energy Integration Projects”
• “Business Sustainability – Social and Environmental Aspects - Successful Experiences in Sustainable Management of Oil Projects in the Region”.

The Technical Committee has already evaluated and selected the best papers to be presented for the Technical Program and E – Posters Section.

We would also like to encourage other organizations to participate as official sponsors for this event in the various categories established. Sponsorships are rewarded with a series of benefits and also exhibiting opportunities at the Technological Exhibition.
